I'm sorry. We are AT WAR in order to provide you with the reasonable gas prices you are willing to pay in order to drive your gas guzzling SUV. Did you hear me? AT WAR. You may not agree with that statement. That is fine, whatever. But look at the most recent facts: The bombing of Libya. I'm sorry, you may believe that we are bombing this country to control Gadhafi from committing further humanitarian crimes. But honestly far worse crimes against humanity have been taking place in Sudan for over 7 yrs. And by god, the US of A did not drop bombs there the moment they heard of these atrocities. Nope. It should be noted that Libya sits on the largest oil reserve in Africa. And if this unrest in Libya continues the oil industry there may come to a halt altogether. Which would drive gas prices in the US sky high.
So do your homework people. Get educated before you complain. And if you are still going to ignore the huge fact that people ARE DYING so you can go to the pump and still have money left over to buy shoes, well then, I guess, Bitch on.
(Stern Carol)
you've been warned.
Added to note: I am aware that there are far more issues that are involving us in war(s) overseas. Although I do believe this is one major factor.

Amen sister.
ReplyDeleteAMEN sista. This has absolutely nothing to do with being humanitarians.... and if it did, all that means is that we're really shitty humanitarians (see your Sudan example).
ReplyDeleteAnd it's only getting worse... I need to figure out a way to block the word "gas" from showing up on my twitter feed.
So true...sadly.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, gas prices suck but everyone needs to get over it. It is what it is and we're all still gonna drive. Anyway, I love your stern face pic! HA!
ReplyDeleteWell said!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't the US only get 2% of its oil from Libya?
ReplyDeleteWell said lady!
ReplyDeleteKGD is right we get a very small amount of crude/oil from Libya. We (US) gets most of it's oil from: 1. Canada; 2. Mexico; 3. Saudi Arabia; 4. Venezuela; 5. Nigeria; 6. Angola; 7. Iraq; 8. Algeria; 9. United Kingdom; 10. Brazil
ReplyDeleteI don't really understand why we're in Libya when so many other countries have civil unrest and have violated humanitarian rights. I don't understand it and we're not being told the truth. Rep. or Demo., I just can't trust our politicians right now.
On a less serious note, I have not complained about gas prices! I still put 92 in my V-8 (it requires 92)! Also, it's been this price before; it increases every summer. An increase in demand, and increase in price. I'm just enjoying this warmer weather! And it's almost Friday!!!
LOVE this post. Bravo!
