My weekend was crazy, tiring but good.
My parents were in town helping with the disaster that is my kitchen/whole downstairs.
And even though they weren't here under the best of circumstances it was sill nice to have them in town.
So let's dive into Monday shall we?
- If you were to ever ask me my opinion on Sears Appliances customer service, I would give them a Big Fat 0! As stated in a previous post, on top of a kitchen disaster, my stackable washer and dryer unit up and died on me after only 5 yrs of magic. (dont buy frigidaire). So I was in the market for a new stackable unit. Decided to upgrade to the nice, shiny, space ship-esque front load appliances. Went to Sears, bought them, set the delivery date for Saturday. Paid extra for the delivery date of Saturday. Saturday rolls around' the washer and dryer are delivered sans the stackable kit that I was never told I needed to buy in order to securely stack them in the laundry room. Anger ensued. Listen, I don't really fume at service people, but Saturday, Stern Carol came out. You better believe that after SEVEN dropped calls and 14 transfers, I ripped Sears Customer Service Line a new one. They damn straight will be giving me that stackable kit for free, plus free service.
Dont mess with Stern Carol.
- My parents, roommate and I had a lovely Greek dinner friday night. But you know who enjoyed it the most?
As my dad said : Wine makes the soul happy.
- Speaking of Greek, I really want to go to a Greek Orthodox church service. Can I do that? Do they accept non Greeks? Am I too WASP-ish for them?
- I caught up on about 4 unread Vanity Fair Issues. I LOVE this magazine. Great articles. If your into politics, art, hollywood and culture, subscribe.
- Speaking of Vanity Fair. I had a conversation with my dad about the current persecutions of Christians happening in Egypt since the revolution. I am doing some research to be educated on it. But it also prompted me to start thinking about what is going to happen to Egypt post revolution. I don't want to be a pessimist, but I agree with this article's outlook.

- I already miss my parents. I talked with my mom this weekend about how, despite having really great people around me here, I still feel alone. Why does lonliness follow me around like a dark cloud? Im praying about it.
I hope you Monday is looking up.

Poor customer service is my number reason for not returning to a store. I think businesses often forget that they wouldn't exist without customers! I would def pray about the lonliness; I'm there right along with you.
ReplyDeleteOn your orthodox church question, I love our local Greek Orthodox church (I always go to thier festivals), and once inquired if I could become a member. I was told yes, but it would be expected that I converted. I looked into it and decided not to join because of thier subserviant (sp?) views of women.
ReplyDeleteHowever, the church is still full of greek men (bliss), and I hear getting an invite to an authentic greek wedding is the ultimate social event.
Wish we were there with all of you to enjoy some wine!!! Keep trucking along sister!
ReplyDeleteOf course you can go to a Greek Orthodox Church. Hospitality is a cornerstone of Greek culture :O) But yes, you will be stared at...and quite possibly hugged and invited to eat!
