Jamaican Me Crazy

Last night I reminisced with a friend about a the semester that we spent in Spain.

It was the time of my life.

And we concluded that, as they say, "youth is wasted on the young".

Looking back on this trip, it was the most amazing time ever. But If I had the chance to go back today at the age I am now and where I am in life now I would do things a little different:

I would complain about the heat and lack of comforts and amenities a little less.

I would take a 1000 more pictures

I would see more cultural sights rather than worrying about my bar hoping plans for the evening.

Oh, and I would really actually work on my Spanish.

Since I am a little under the weather and have nothing to really blog about till I kick this cold. And since I took a tour down memory lane last night, I thought I would post some pics the rest of the week of some of my most memorable adventures from years past.

First up:
Jamaica.

My Junior year of college me and a group of friends went on a cruise. I think I already knew deep down that a cruise just wasn't my thing but actually taking on the experience solidified the gut feeling I already had.

after being stuck in a cooped up room and being harassed with bad entertainment and weird dinner arrangements on the boat I was ecstatic for out first stop along our route.

I awoke to rain on the day we landed in Jaimaca.
But that wasnt going to stop me from getting off that damn boat.
We headed straight to margaritaville in the pouring rain.
There Me and my roomie Alicia tried in desperation to convince the group to travel to mecca: Bob Marley's Mosoleum.
(if you dont know already, I LOVE Bob Marley).
The group, as a whole, was not down.
"it's too dangerous"
"its raining"
"who is Bob Marley"
SO
it ended up being me, Alicia, Kerra and Rachel.
We had no idea what we were doing.
We convinced a taxi driver to take us the 2 hour trek to the gravesite on what little money we all had in cash that we could throw together.

here is what commenced:
(captions provided by the wonderful Alicia)

Junior, our cab driver and fearless leader, takes us into the great unknown.. the belly.. of Jamaica.Emotions take over. Excitement. Apprehension. Terror.
No need for rafts in this country. The van conquers these rapids with unparalleled agility

we find whatever we can to brace ourselves against the current
Tension rises and so does the temperature. Carol starts her daily strip tease.. but could Junior be looking on?
The strip tease sent the driver's mind into a whirlwind. We round the corner and BAM. The bus appears, falling a few inches short of a collision. (Please notice the smile still on his face)
All of the near deaths and all of the tequila have sped up the filtering of the glomeruli in everyone's kidneys. A stop must be made.
our parents would be so very proud
House shopping for Kerra and Chris we stumbled upon this diamond in the rough...
what was thought to be the neverending journey finally ended at our destination

Crazy, our tour guide
bob's thinking rock

Following the thinking rock, we headed into the mausoleum, where I was informed that no pictures were allowed. I took some. But then my camera 'mysteriously' got janked up and all my pcitures were erased. Coincidense? or Bob Marley upholding the sacredness of his grave?

I left him a bobby pin (it was the only thing I had on me) and a note that said 'One Love'.

I would like to note that we barely made it back to the boat before it left port. You all saw those rapids the taxi van had to wade through!

Weekend Story

Sorry for being a bit MIA
I have been a tad under the weather.

But I had a good weekend.

This is Todd
(not a very good picture, I digress, he is the one to the left with the guitar, not the red hat.)

He decided to move.

So his roommate Andrew
threw him a going away party.

There was keg beer.

Random card games.

Dancing,

(you know I got down.
)

And some 'jammming'

.
It was a good time.

Give or Get

Im back with a give or get.

I want these badly!

The Luchese Mad Dog Goat cowboy boot.

They are for sale on ebay
here

I would snatch them up if they were my size.
But after talking with the only semi-boot offciando that I know
I was informed they run a tad big.
Go a whole size down from your normal size.

Someone snatch them up. They are just too pretty.

I usually am not a Perez...

But I have been immersed in pop culture this week for some reason.
Perhaps I took a slide when I watched the entirety of the Golden Globes, who knows.
I usually never pay attention to celebrity gossip but it is like a sick/weird vortex.
It all started with Heidi. When I saw the video on GMA I was in shock.
Then I was at a friends house last night and she had the People with ole' fem-bot on the cover.
Then I saw this:

WHY
Oh, WHY
Is this lady still around?
(Go feed your 1800 kids please with my tax money)
And how could anyone want to know about her body?
She is the last person on earth who's body I care about.
But people buy these things.
Just like I was totally sucked into Heidi yesterday.

What gives?
Do we all just love train wrecks this much?
Do you all keep up with all the ridiculousness this crap celebrity vortex offers or do you just pick and choose what sucks you in like I did with Heidi?

Or am I just weird?

Peace,

Improvements

I would like to inform you dear readers,
That as of yesterday,
I am now an owner of an actual Camera!
Not just a camera on a phone.
I found a great deal thanks to Heather over at Saving Money and Living Life.
After I complained yesterday about the horrid sewing pictures, she kindly posted a comment with a link to a camera with a price that I just couldnt pass up.

It is this here beauty:
Yea she is blue and she is the
Canon PowerShot SD1200IS 10 MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch LCD

So dear readers, Hopefully this will make for much more beautiful pictures instead of the nasty ones I have been posting on the blog.

If you want a deal check it out here.

Can we talk about this for a second?

Just a second that is all.

How did this little cutie:

Turn into a Cougar-ish-alien-ish looking freakshow?

My opinions on plastic surgery:
Do what you feel.
But when you cant feel your face,
stop.

I mean she literally can not move her face.
on top of looking like a fem-bot
She is as stupid as a brick too.
Please watch this for further evidence of her stupidity.
She cant move her face and she cant talk either.
Things are really looking up for this one.

I mean looking like a waxed dead person mixed with stupidity + being married to the biggest Asshole in America does not bode well for this 23.

Sorry Heidi.
But I am transfixed on your train wreck of a life.

Peace,

$37.00 for a pair of scissors

I would like to preface this post by apologizing up front for the horrid pictures that will be in this post.
I really need to invest in a camera other than my phone.
But who knows when I will get around to that.

Last night was my second night of sewing class.
I spent a considerable amount on supplies.
$37.00 on a pair of scissors.
They are super hard core.
They have a lifetime warranty
So someone in my future will be inheriting them.
(my hardcore scissors above!)

I am making a little girls jumper.
The Lucy Jumper to be exact.
Patterns are a bitch.

I spent 3 hours on cutting the pattern.
pinning the pattern to my fabric
cutting the fabric
and then pinning the fabric together.
All for a size 2 jumper
I cant imagine working on normal size clothing.

But it was really fun.
I am definitely the youngest person in the class.
Not that it is full of older folks.
Just young married women either expecting their first baby or they already have babies.

I cant wait to actually start sewing next week.
I am looking forward to making some pillows and curtains for big D!

Golden Globes

Did you all watch?
Which looks were your favorite
What were your favorite wins?

My favorite looks:

I think January always looks classy even when she goes a little edgy. I thought this black dress was classic but also had nice architectural detail too it.
I also dig the head band.

I ADORE Chloe Sevigney. I know that not all agree. She is an aquired taste. But I think she does it right most of the time in the most unique ways. It may not wow everyone. But I LOVE her.

My most favorite though of the night, Cameron Diaz. I LOVE this gown. Love.

My favorite winners:

John Lithgow For Dexter.
He was so creepy this season as Trinity. And he deserved to win!

Also in the lines of Dexter

I Loved the win for Micheal C Hall also for Dexter.
He is amazing as this character.

Who knew you could root so hard for a serial killer?
