Lost

Lost spoilers below

Some of you may watch Lost, some of you may not.
But I have watched for 6 years.
and last night it all came to an end.

To be honest, I am totally overwhelmed.
I hate goodbyes of any sort.
I think it is because I invest so much of myself into the things I really love and am passionate about so it is hard to let go.

Last night I was a ball of nerves!
But as the actor who plays Locke said,
" It is like a really good book, it has to ends and when you finish hopefully you say, 'hmm, that was amazing.'"

I was not let down by the finale.
I was shocked,
emotional,
happy and sad,
but not let down.

I think most of us were thrown by the end.
How the parallel universe was a sort of purgatory/ holding place for our dead Losties.
I think that the Island was real.
That really happened.
And some of them went on to live long and different lives.
Kate and the others who left on the plane continued to a new life
Hurley stayed and remained the 'Jacob'
and Jack died when he died at the end.

But what I love is how they moved on together.
It was like Jack's statement at the beginning,
"Live together or die alone'
Came full circle.

The flashes!
Those tore me up!
Sun and Jin did me in
Then it was Sayid and Shannon and so on and so on!

I have loved this show so much.
The mythology
and mystery
but I am so glad it ended
with redemption
and the message that those you 'live with' go with you throughout and beyond.

As Desmond so aptly puts it.
"See you in another life Brotha."

So many questions on why Jack had a son and on the whole sideways world and what it really was.
Here is my theory
I am not sure if the sideways world can be called purgatory bc in a way I kind of believe it is real.
I believe that in order for the Losties to get the other side they had to live a somewhat redeemed/desired life that they longed for:
I.E.
All Jack ever longed and wanted was a father son relationship,
in real life, pre plane crash, he never got that from Christian.
in sideways world he created/had David therefore his longing for a father son relationship was fulfilled.

Sawyer pre plane crash was haunted and marred by his parents death always wanting justice for them but unable to rectify it due to his pain.
In the sideways world he is a cop who lives in moves in justice.

Sayid, pre plane crash was not a good man.
Sideways world he wanted and longed to be a good man but could neve quite get there.

Sun and Jin pre plane crash didnt not have a loving marriage. They longed for some sort of connection.
Sideways world they are passionate about each other.

Desmond, pre plane crash, longed for Widmore's approval.
Sideways world he was Widmore's favorite right hand man.

Hurley was unlucky in life pre plane crash.
Sideways world he was the luckiest.

Ben hurt everyone pre plane crash.
Sideways world he had a strong and lasting impact on those in his life (i.e Alex and Rousseau).

Locke longed for a good life pre plane crash but never got it his life was struck with difficulty.
Sideways world, despite his difficulty, he had love and the opportunity to reverse his misfortune.

Claire was alone pre plane crash and confused.
Sideways world she finds her family and love.
