Dear Anthropologie, We are officially on the rocks...

Dear Anthro,
What is the deal? You have always made my heart pitter-patter and skip beats with your vintage look, well made pieces, and out of the ordinary accessories.
But I am afraid my feelings towards you are growing luke warm.
You are usually so steady with your service and stylish surprises that I have continued to carry on relations with you for years.
But I should have known last May, when your snooty sales associates accused me of shop lifting when my jcrew shirt set off the store alarm multiple times and the dress I returned had a stain on it (I saw your suspicious eyes wondering if I had worn it out then returned it!), that we were headed for trouble.
But I held on.
Until the Holidays.
You wowed me with this little jewel:
Oh I adored it. And I waited and waited for a sale. And it finally came!
But I was too late for you too give it up easily when I came to visit in person.
No, I had to call customer service, who directed me to a Pasadena store, who finally found it in my size.
I thought I was lucky.
That was 12.23.09
I still have not received the coat.
I am missing a few Benjamin's from my bank account.
And I wait, anxiously, for the UPS man to show his face everyday.
He doesn't.

And today.
I found a new little beauty I thought could put our relationship back on track!
She caught my eye immediately. So elegant and stylish and perfect for my trip in February.
But due to my current experience with the coat, I thought it best to visit in person to try the dress on.
And
I was disapointed.
The fabric looked cheap.
I was hoping for thick embroidered fabric. Instead I got a knit overlay with a slip underneath.
I saw the pearl buttons on the back and thought, What a nice touch. only to find they were gold.
And the golden ribbon belt.
It looked so thick and luscious in the picture. Like it would tie perfectly in the front and around the back.
No, You went out to your nearest hobby lobby, picked out the first golden ribbon you found and attached it awkwardly to the front and it doesn't even work tieing .
Shame on you.

I might be getting nasty now but
BRING ME MY DAMN COAT!

Peace,

  7. OMG! I was accused of shoplifting in the Anthro in Burbank!!! I had tried some things on, and in one of the dressing rooms were a few security tags...they checked all my shopping bags before they let me leave, and muttered a quick non-meaningful apology! Urgh!
