The Junk

Junk Food has taken over my life this week. I feel so terrible.

Literally I have been eating straight crap, and I cant seem to get satisfied.

I have to stop.

And in order to stop I think I am going to have to go carb free and sweets free for awhile.

I'm not really going to be hitting up the Atkins diet or anything, I just need to try and cut out as much junk from my system as possible.

I did this with coke. I have never really been one to crave coke, say, like I do Chocolate, but I did drink them way more than I should. And one day, I just stopped. Now, rarely do I drink cokes. Occasionally at dinner I will have one with a meal. But I don't crave them anymore. I actually prefer water.

I hope this is what will happen to my addiction to sweets and bad food.

I think half the reason I eat badly is because I don't put in the effort to cook.

And the chocolate addiction... well that may be a tough one to conquer.

So, do you all have any recipes? Or tricks of the trade for staying away from the bad stuff?

let me know.

Also On my below post, Makeup Makeover,

So many suggestions! Thank you! H
ere is what I am thinking I am going to start over with:

Mac Eyeshadow: There were so many comments raving about their eye shadows. I think I am going to go in tomorrow and have them do my eyes up for me and see what the result is :)

Foundation: I am going to give Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer a try!

Eyeliner: A good friend convinced me to try Revelon Color Stay eyeliner, I am excited to give it a shot!

And for my Cheeks... Well there was a definite winner in that category... NARS in orgasm. Ordered it yesterday.

For my lips: I think again, I am going to go with MAC and their lipglass.

We will see how it turns out.

Makeup-Makeover

I want to start over with my make-up.
I hardly wear any make-up.
Just last month I started using foundation.
And the things I use regularly I have used for years.

I want to throw the old out and start all over again.

But, this is an area of weakness for me. I have NO IDEA what brands are great, what items are must haves and so on...

So I need help.

Here is what I have in my bag now that I love:

Bare Minerals Well Rested Concealer
Bare Minerals Summer Bisque foundation - I could be convinced to use something else, but I do like this.
Dior Show Iconoclast Mascara

What I am in the market for:
Foundation: I will take suggestions on this. I Like Bare Minerals but there could be something better out there. I don't want anything to heavy though.

Eye shadow: What's your favorite? What do you think would look good with my face and coloring?

Liner: I like black liner. Tell me your favorites. In desperate need!

Lip Gloss: Um.. All I use is Rose Bud Salve. This isn't even really a lip gloss...

Blush: What color? What brand?

Anything else I need?

I will get samples of whatever you all suggest and do some testing, post some pics and see what I love and what kind of feedback I get.

PS. Dont forget to enter to win the giveaways below!

Reading

Something is happening to me.
I think my love for reading may be waning.
But I don't want it to go...
But it seems that every time I pick up a book, it is so hard for me to finish.

I tried to read this:

And still haven't finished.

So then I picked up this one:

Which had an enormous amount of hype attached to it. And I loved his previous books, but honestly, with this one, I am ready for it to end. I am disappointed in it and I cant decide if it is because the book really isn't as great as his previous ones (which in my opinion it isn't) or if it is because my passion for reading seems to have gone missing. I just don't know.

I have about a million other books sitting around that I want to read, I just cant seem to will myself to get through them.
This is so unlike me.
Have any of you read the above books? What did you think?
Do you have any book suggestions to get my reading back on track?

Oh, and P.S. I am almost to 100 followers (insert large happy grin) Thank you for following and reading! Once I hit that triple number I will be holding a Thank You giveaway for all you wonderfuls!

Peace,

Yes, I was the girl who asked for A1 for my steak at a nice restaurant...

Yes, It is true, I asked for A1 at a nice restaurant, which of course didn't even have A1... Toto were not in Outback anymore... Pretentious, no, Redneck, yes.

I had the greatest weekend. Seriously, It could not have been better or more special!
I honestly understand now how people meet on eharmony and such and say they have found their soul mate. In a strange way I feel like that is what we are. We are all definitely connected through a very special bond and I can say with, utmost sincerity, that we are and will be dear friends for a lifetime.

Here is a short, but sweet weekend recap:
There was sushi
Cocktails
Shopping, of course
A good amount of time spent in the Tory Burch store... Which resulted in a phone call being made with the exact phrase "we felt violated..." being used.
A couple of other great meals (including Chick-fil-A, The aforementioned steak, and a Moultan cake).
A hot waiter
Some interesting cab drivers
Some interesting dancing
A lesbian couple on the dance floor
ADRIEN!
an almost wedding ceremony
A strange encounter with someone who pretended to not be herself but was definetly who we thought she was (what is the point in lying about who you are? I will never understand...)
Alot of great conversation
Alot of laughter
Some hysterical pictures
And sad goodbye, but a definite see you soon!

I love you all dearly!

Conversation and laughter to warm my heart
Oh, and don't forget the Shoes.

Behind

My lack of discipline has struck again...
Mixed in with procrastination. This is not a good mix.
I am leaving for a Trip tomorrow.
A very exciting meet-up.
I should have thought about what I needed to bring earlier, outfits, accessories and such.
But of course I didn't.
And now I am panicked, a little, and frustrated with myself.

My house is a wreck
My washing machine is broken, so if I need to do laundry tonight, because of course I haven't even thought about what to pack, I cant.
I have a million errands: the bank, the mall, pick up some gifts for my gals, nail appointment, pack potter up... the list goes on...

Story of my life.

But I think I have some options for my dress for our Saturday night dinner, what do you guys think?

Option 1

Option 2

Option 3

Jeans

Jeans. Sometimes I have a love/hate relationship with them. It has been hard to find that 'perfect' pair. I either feel like I am tugging them up on my hips all the time, or that my legs are going to lose circulation from the squeeze created by some.

But I have finally found two brands that I love.

First, I love Joes Jeans. They are so comfy and they have an amazing fit. I have tried alot of designer jeans, 7, citzens of humanity, rock and republic, and although they may fit some perfectly, I wasn't the most comfortable in these brands and for the price, I wanted a pair that was perfect.

But Joes did it for me. I found my first pair at TG Max! It was the best steal I have ever gotten. I live in those jeans! They are just a simple blue pair with a bootcut opening. Casual and they go with everything.

My other brand that I have found is a boutique line called IT Jeans. They aren't high-end designer jeans but they are not retail store brand jeans either. You will have to look up in your area for a boutique that sells them or you can find them on their website. (They are also a steal, I hope you will be as shocked as I was by the price of these for the fit and quality!)

I own three pairs of these jeans and I LOVE them!

I have a basic pair called the Hottie It Jean ( I know, I know, I am not to keen on the name 'hottie', a little cheesy)

They are just a low-rise boot. It is my most basic jean. Perfect for casual days with t-shirts and flats.

I also own their Diva fit. Which is another boot cut jean but what I love about it is that it sits higher on the behind and a little lower in the front. It is perfect for girls with a little junk in the trunk. Which, although not well-endowed elsewhere on my body, I tend to have a 'baby got back' behind. So these jeans suit me well. They also seem more dressier to me. They have a different weave and come in many different washes.

Thirdly, I own a pair of the most amazing skinny jeans from this company called the, Starlett Diva It jean.

I cannot tell you how much I love these jeans. I have them in black but I plan on picking up another color asap. They are the perfect skinny jean, really. They fit great into boots, look great with flats and look pretty hot with heels (so I have been told :)).

here is pic of me wearing them with some heels. and actually today I am wearing them with my boots. Versatile to say the least.

I just wanted to share my little steal of a fit with you! Check ou the site!

An ode to the Mafia

Wow! alot happened in my viral world last night.

I am a little sad and a little freaked out!

( I have decided to remove the link to a certain website that has caused much harm to me and my friends. I would never want to be 'stirring the pot' and I actually would like to make this an ode to my dear online friends and not post about stupidity and others hate.)

To all of my dear viral friends, I love our 'so-called' perfect lives. I love that we have all found each other and know deep down that it is genuine. I love that our relationship actually goes beyond the internet. I love that we aren't caddy or pretentious, but the opposite we are quite caring and humble.
You all have encouraged me in so many ways. And I am honored to be a part of this 'Mafia'.

Cheers Biatches!

Perfect cozy weather movies (in my opinion)

Cold weather puts me in a cozy mood. (especially when my heater is broken). Moods like this make me want to curl up and watch some of my favorite movies. Movies that you love are always better when it is cold and dreary outside and you are snuggled up... dont you think?

I was thinking of some of my favorites that I need to bring out for the cold weather and some, for the holiday season:

Bridgett Jones' Diary

I love this movie so much! Sometimes I feel like deep down I am Bridgett- a total hot-mess! I love both 1 and 2. I love when she runs after her man in her underwear, sneakers and snow. I just love it!

(BTW I looked like this bundled up in my bed last night!)

Breakfast at Tiffany's
Oh How I love this movie. In my dreams, I am Holly Golightley. She is the most quirky, stylish, free-spirited little thing. This movie mesmerizes me every time I see it!

Under the Tuscan Sun

This movie gets me through the months of winter that are so dead and dreary you wonder if spring is ever going to come.

I love this story because I think the main character is so endearing and all the other characters play such amazing and amusing roles in her healing.

It just makes me feel good.

Love Actually
THE. PERFECT. CHRISTMAS. MOVIE!

Pride and Prejudice

The most Romantic movie ever.
I cry every time I see Mr. Darcy cross that field!

American Beauty

Kevin Spacey's Character is the greatest narrorator. And everyone is Neurotic.

Almost Famous

My favorite movie of all time. I ADORE Penny Lane

Dan in Real Life

This movie warms my heart. "Expect the Unexpected".

Gosh there are so many more... So cozy up and pop in your favorite!

Peace,

Freezing and Exicting News!

It is so cold!!! I returned from my weekend away to find myself living and sleeping in an igloo. Seriously. It was freezing outside and inside! as I climbed into bed last night I had on a long sleeve shirt, pants, socks and two, yes two, down blankets on top of my quilt and under blanket! I was still cold! I thought my nose was going to freeze off!

Obviously my heater is not working. Have to figure that one out.

Also my washing machine is broken... perfect.

Sometimes the fact that things are always breaking or there is always something to fix is a tad bit annoying...

But in other EXCITING NEWS!!! My dear friend Blake got engaged over the weekend! I am not going to lie, I shed a little tear! I love when people who are really wonderful together get engaged and I really love when I see my dear friends so happy!

She is marrying her best friend of 12yrs! How rare is that?!

She is quite the catch too! She is funny and sweet, loyal and she knows who she is. She is also one of the cutest girls I know and has the most incredible fashion sense!

I have also had the pleasure of meeting her soon to be Mr. He is hysterical, lighthearted, creative and adores her!

I am so excited for the future Mrs. C!

Congratulations Blake!

Vegas Kitty

Friday, Friday, you came so quickly this week.

Today I am headed out of town! Excitement!
Actually I will be headed out of town the next three weekends in a row.
I'm such a jet setter... (j/k)

Next weekend I am headed to ATL for a special get together!
The next is Halloween... How is it already almost Halloween?

I dont even have a Halloween costume planned!
Halloween is kind of a big deal at my office.
Last year there were skits.
It was my second day on the job... It was quite entertaining.
This year I may actually be part of the skits...

Our little cubbie section is decorated quite nicely for the holiday, thanks to the print production lady who sits behind me.

Check out some of her work:
This cat is on top of my cubbie. It is sparkly. I like to call it Vegas Kitty (via MJ:))
This is my co-worker Melissa posing as Vegas Kitty

A light-up Jack-o-lanteern. A must for the cubbie right?

No cubbie block is complete without a hanging spider...

The Crow, which is constant decor. We have loving named it after 'the bank that shall not be named' that keeps us busy or insane!

This is my skeleton that I have had since last year when I started at the agency. It loving sits below my name plate.

A little crazy huh?

Happy weekend to you all.

Oh and check out this and follow!
