Lets talk paint my friends

As I stated in an earlier post. I have never painted in any home I have lived in during/post college.

This painting thing is going to be new to me.

When I was growing up my room was yellow for a while.

Then Tommy Hilfiger came out with this lime green bedding with different colored daisies on it.

( I searched and searched for a pic on the web but couldn't find one if anyone knows the bedding I am talking about send a photo my way!)

I had to paint my room lime green, with daisies on the wall to match my new bedding.

it was fun for awhile, then I became a teenager and was too cool for the lime green madness.

So I went back to yellow.

You can see I haven't had much of a history or sound judgment when it comes to painting the rooms I call my own.

But I want to do right by this new apartment.

So help me.

I want to do the guest bedroom a light shade of pink and my room a grayish color.

For the pinks I am thinking one of these colors:

Wild Aster

Benjamin Moore Pale Pink Satin

B Moore Sugar Cane

B Moore Yours Truely

B Moore Ballet Slippers

The only gray I have found is, Drift Wood:
What are y'alls thoughts on Wheat Bread?

Any other gray suggestions?

Peace,

  1. How fun to have a 2 bedroom apartment! I love the pink for the guest rooms. I like Wheat Bread and Chocolate Broth. Where did you find those colors?

  3. I love Wheat bread! I'm totally into anything grey these days and just did a wall in my kitchen grey. Also I think i like Wild Aster best for your guest bedroom (although I like the name Ballet Slippers the best :)

  4. I'd be super cautious about the pink. My guest bedroom is pink, and while pink is one of my favorite colors, it just doesn't work for me for an entire bedroom. Just thought I'd let you know.

  5. I tried Ballet Slippers for the girls' rooms and it had a purple cast. I tell everyone, to get paint colors with a "little warmth" to them. The pink I ended up using was Benjamin Moore "Pink Swirl" 2171-70. I love it. It looks like it's going to go "peachy" when you're putting it up, but I like that it didn't look like cotton candy. I'll try to take a picture of the room and post it on Twitter for you.

  6. i almost used wheat bread in my bedroom. i really like it! my living room is gray and i used BM Ozark shadows. it is pretty dark though, but i really like it! if you go to like home depot, they have all the color info to make the BM colors, and it is way less expensive!

  7. I'm voting for wheat bread! it's a good light grey- i think you'll enjoy it better. and yours truly for the pink. both are light colors that will go with a lot of decorating stuff.

  8. I just did grey in the master and I will tell you watch out for it not to be to blue or purple. True grey's match everything. Blue or purple greys are not so cute. Good Luck can't wait to see what you do!
