The Holiday Cups Have Arrived

These arrived today at my local Starbucks. Yep. It's official the holidays have arrived. Thanks you Starbucks for kicking off the season.

At lunch I will be headed out to my nearest Sbuxs (like that abbreviation?) to pick up a white chocolate peppermint mocha. Christmas bells are ringing... wait it isn't even Thanksgiving yet...

I am not the biggest Holiday person. I know shocking, but really I'm not. I mean, I like the holidays, I enjoy them, Tis the season... yea yea yea, but I don't LOVE them as most Americans do.

I don't go crazy for decorations.
I don't go crazy for holiday shopping.
I don't get crazy with lights or traditions.

Nope. I just spend it with my family and my friends cozied up in my home town with my moms home cooking. No big To-Do. Just simple time together. And that is how I like it.

Maybe I would really be down with the Holidays if my family made a big hoopla out of it. But we dont. Maybe I am missing out on something, I dont know.

But either way I am happy to get my holiday pleasure from the Sbux's red cups, the occasional Celine Dion and Josh Grobin Christmas Carol and time at home.

Now to start giftshopping. Oh dear...

Peace,

  1. Oh I love the holidays... especially since I have started shopping in like July. That means NO stress last minute, no crowds, no stores running out of gifts. Nope. I only have a few more gifts to get... I even started wrapping them already! Just need a tree to put them under ;)
I used to not care about the decorations. But since getting married, I am just a home decor junkie in general. Christmas is just one more excuse! haha

  2. That's the perfect way to spend the holidays!! It should be more about spending time with family and friends and celebrating the real meaning of Christmas than gifts, lights, decorations, etc. You're not missing out :)

Although, I have to admit. I do love me some Christmas decorations. I kind of go a little crazy! Maybe some of your laid back-ness will rub off on me???

  3. MMM Peppermint Mocha! I think we don't get nearly into Christmas because Thanksgiving is our big hoopla holiday. Now that we have kids though, who knows how it will be!

  4. I am obsessed with the holidays. Just call me Buddy the Elf!! haha! I love the decorations, the shopping, the food, and everything else involved. Of course, my favorite thing about Christmas is the time spent with my wonderful family (well some of them)! Anyway, I am so glad to see that someone else likes the peppermint WHITE choc. mocha instead of just the peppermint mocha. I wonder if most people know the greatness that is pep white mocha? Yummmmmy!!!

  5. I'm like you, not a huge holiday fan, but only because I hate all the hoopla. I'd much rather just use it to focus on family and faith, cause really that's what it should be about. I will admit I love the smell of Christmas trees though, can't wait for those!

  6. Hi there- I just stumbled upon your blog and HAD to say hello! First of all - great blog title!!! Truth be told, I'm in the process of redesigning mine and had this title on my list of names, only to find out their aren't any web addresses w/ that title available.

Looks like we read a lot of the same blogs too! I just became a blog follower - can't wait to read more. :)
