Reading

Something is happening to me.
I think my love for reading may be waning.
But I don't want it to go...
But it seems that every time I pick up a book, it is so hard for me to finish.

I tried to read this:

And still haven't finished.

So then I picked up this one:

Which had an enormous amount of hype attached to it. And I loved his previous books, but honestly, with this one, I am ready for it to end. I am disappointed in it and I cant decide if it is because the book really isn't as great as his previous ones (which in my opinion it isn't) or if it is because my passion for reading seems to have gone missing. I just don't know.

I have about a million other books sitting around that I want to read, I just cant seem to will myself to get through them.
This is so unlike me.
Have any of you read the above books? What did you think?
Do you have any book suggestions to get my reading back on track?

Oh, and P.S. I am almost to 100 followers (insert large happy grin) Thank you for following and reading! Once I hit that triple number I will be holding a Thank You giveaway for all you wonderfuls!

Peace,

  1. I'm currently reading The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie and it's keeping my interest nicely.

And if you haven't read the Twilight series, those will get you... I never put them down and read all four in about 2 weeks...

  2. I juuuuust finished American Wife. I REALLY liked it but it still took me a couple months to read it. It's worth giving it another shot, I think it's a good book. (and it's pretty easy to pick up where you left off). I have a huge stack of books on my nightstand but haven't decided what I'm going to read next...

  3. I also read the American Wife, and it took me a while to get into too. Finish it! I loved it so much once I really got into it!

  5. I am the same way -- have so many books sitting on my bookshelf and I have no time to read them all.

  6. I feel the same way about this book. Finished it a few weeks ago, and found it interesting until about 1/2 way through. It could have ended about 3/4 through, and I seriously skimmed my way through the last 1/4 after the "main event" happened. Blah.

  7. I just finished (well, 2 weeks ago or so) The Lost Symbol and I loved it, couldn't put it down. I thought it was WAY more exciting than his other books. How far into it are you?? The beginning is a little slow but once you get moving things get VERY good.

  9. I LOVED American Wife and all of Curtis Sittenfeld's other novels. It took a little while to get into but once I did I was really fascinated with Alice's character and Laura Bush!
