I want to start over with my make-up.
I hardly wear any make-up.
Just last month I started using foundation.
And the things I use regularly I have used for years.
I want to throw the old out and start all over again.
But, this is an area of weakness for me. I have NO IDEA what brands are great, what items are must haves and so on...
So I need help.
Here is what I have in my bag now that I love:
Bare Minerals Well Rested Concealer
Bare Minerals Summer Bisque foundation - I could be convinced to use something else, but I do like this.
Dior Show Iconoclast Mascara
What I am in the market for:
Foundation: I will take suggestions on this. I Like Bare Minerals but there could be something better out there. I don't want anything to heavy though.
Eye shadow: What's your favorite? What do you think would look good with my face and coloring?
Liner: I like black liner. Tell me your favorites. In desperate need!
Lip Gloss: Um.. All I use is Rose Bud Salve. This isn't even really a lip gloss...
Blush: What color? What brand?
Anything else I need?
I will get samples of whatever you all suggest and do some testing, post some pics and see what I love and what kind of feedback I get.
PS. Dont forget to enter to win the giveaways below!
Peace,

I love bare essentials. Blush - Nars Orgasm hands down!
ReplyDeleteok...I never wore foundation! But then I went to an Arbonne party and fell in love with the mineral powder foundation by Arbonne! Love it! It is a little more expensive than buying something from Target or even Clinique, BUT it's like you aren't even wearing foundation.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Buxom lip gloss. The color I use is called "Katie" and it's a really pretty light pink, but I love the lip gloss in general. Not sticky at all and has a cooling/plumping affect (not the tingling/burning plumping stuff).
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love the Nars blush in "Orgasm". Again a very pink color, but it's a great product. I actually think it's one of their best sellers?
You should go in to Sephora or wherever you like to get your makeup and just tell them what you're looking for. They'll try everything out for you until you find your faves. That's how I found those!
I have lots of drugstore makeup recs- that way if you don't like it, you haven't spent a fortune! If you like liquid liner, this one http://tinyurl.com/yzgulpl by Loreal is awesome!
ReplyDeleteblush-orgasm my nars
ReplyDeletei love bare minerals foundation too :) used it for 3 years
covergirl lash blast is cheap and works REALLY well!
im in love with the eyeliner pot from Bobbi Brown and also bobbi brown shimmering nudes eyeshadow palette :)
hope i helped some!
One word: MAC. I use MAC Studio Fix foundation, their eye shadow is the best -- great color pigmentation, and they have great lipstick with Shea butter so it's so creamy. I also have 3 of their blushes -- they are vibrant!
ReplyDeleteAll my eye stuff, powder, blush, and bronzer is from MAC.
ReplyDeleteI use the Rosebud salve and Burt's Bees regularly since I am not a lipstick/gloss person.
Foundation wise I use some Covergirl stuff because it has just always worked for me.
I love Laura Mercier's illuminating tinted moisturizer. I don't care for traditional foundations so this is perfect for me. I also use Trish McEvoy eye definer and Diorshow mascara.
ReplyDeleteLaura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer is great. Other than that-- Go to the Chanel counter and Belk and ask for Byron. He's great-- love him!
ReplyDeleteI am a HUGE fan of Trish McEvoy's curling mascara. It lengthens, it curls ... it's wonderful. Also, you can cry buckets and it doesn't run. I'm telling ... miracle mascara!!! Xoxo-BLC
ReplyDeletewell i am really conscious about what i put on my skin, and what goes into my pores. so i use arbonne (google it). its great and i love it. i wore it on my wedding day too. you do have to order it through a rep. which is a pain sometimes bc you cant go to a store and get it. but i love it and the powder foundation lasts me well over 6 months!
ReplyDeleteI'm a Mary Kay consultant and fell in love with the products because they feel good on my skin. I'd love to send you a bunch of samples if you're interested. You can email me at jaimenash at marykay dot com or you can go to my website marykay.com/jaimenash and look at our products.
ReplyDeleteMAC Studio Fix is a fantastic powdered foundation. Also, NARS is the best in the business when it comes to eye shadows. They have a great array of colors and the wearability is great!
ReplyDeleteI'm SUPER faithful to Bareminerals foundation and lipgloss! I cannot find anything I like better. Other than that I am not picky and get most of my makeup at the drugstore. My eyeliner is a liquid eyeliner by L'Oreal (I can't remember the line. It comes in a gold tube) and it's super easy to draw a perfect line. My mascara is by Maybelline (I think) and it's the volumizing kind with white one end and black on the other. I get compliments ALL the time and people ask where I get my mascara. Then for eyeshadows I have tons from Mac, E.L.F., and Bareminerals and various drugstore brands.
ReplyDeleteGood luck and have fun!!! :)
I really like Jane Iredale make up- foundation, concealer, the whole sha-bang.
ReplyDeleteLaura Mericer is great too!
I am like you, wear very little makeup, but I do wear foundation and lip gloss. Maybe this sounds cheap or a strange suggestion, but I've tried everything because I don't want anything to thick. I use Cover Girl True Blend.
ReplyDeleteFor lip gloss, I love Clinique's Air Kiss. It's like it's barely there, but just pink enough and shiny enough for a little umph.
MAC is the best for eyeshadow! Right now they have their Holiday pallettes out which are great to start with- they've already been matched for you! I also love their Dazzleglass and C-Thru is the best nude i've come across.
ReplyDeleteI love Bare Minerals too. I use well rested as an eye concealer; however, I thought Summer Bisque was a concealer versus a foundation. I use SB for concealer for my face, and whatever, color whether it be medium tan or tan for my face. For blush, I use Bare Minerals Hint which I think is similar to Nars Orgasm. And for night eyeliner, I use Lancome's liquid ARTliner which to me is much easier to apply than other liquid eyeliners because of the brush. And def use and eyelash curler!!!! For day eyeliner, I just use graphite Mac pencil or a Lancome pencil. And I absolutely love Stila eyeshadows!!! Hope this helps!
ReplyDeleteGirl...run, do not walk, but RUN to your nearest Bobbi Brown counter. The professional there will help you...
ReplyDeleteI don't wear a lot of make-up myself, and Bobbi Brown is perfect for those kinds of people who like to look beautiful, but simple and clean!
Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer is nice, but I prefer Kiehls tinted moisturizer. I do love Laura Mercier's wet brush eyeliner and eyeshadows.
ReplyDeleteI think you really need to read Carmindy's 5 minute face. It will change everything you do, in a positive way. She's a specialist, and her makeup routine works. She's written 3 books, this is the first. I've read the second and loved it too, and the 3rd is due or out now.

I am a MAC girl through and through. Studiofix powder/foundations is absolutely amazing. When applied with a big powder brush (MAC #150) it’s smooth and really evens out ones skin tone, plus you will look perfect in pictures-that’s actually what it was designed for. They have the best eye shadows ever (they don’t crease at all). Some staple colors for your eyes are yogurt, shroom, phloof & something for your crease like Tempting (brownish) or Trax (purplish). Also try retrospeck it’s a pretty shimmery gold that would look pretty especially around the holidays. I love MAC lustreglass it’s not too sticky but gives you just enough color on your lips. Bobbi Brown shimmer brick in nude would be pretty as a blush and all over color, since you are blond. Lastly, Inimitable Mascara by Chanel is pretty amazing.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this beautiful space friend. I will keep you visiting. A hug Limoeiro Manoel de Recife-PE.

Mascara: YSL in lengthening. It will make your lashes dance!
Love MAC and Chanel eyes shadows their pigments are amazing!
Also NARS and MAC blushes are long wearing!
Happy Hunting!
I am a BIG Bobbi Brown fan! I love their foundation because it is light. My favorite shadows are their creme shadows which last all day. The gel eye liners are great. I did a post not too long ago about my fav Bobbi Brown products. I will send you an invite to my blog if you want! Just email me at absolutelylovepink@yahoo.com!
ReplyDeleteI hardly wear makeup too, BUT love me some MAC powder - NC42 is the best!
ReplyDeleteI just did a few posts on new makeup that I'm loving right now. For eyeliner, I recommend Stila's barbie liquid liner, or urban decay regular black liner.
