The Junk

Junk Food has taken over my life this week. I feel so terrible.

Literally I have been eating straight crap, and I cant seem to get satisfied.

I have to stop.

And in order to stop I think I am going to have to go carb free and sweets free for awhile.

I'm not really going to be hitting up the Atkins diet or anything, I just need to try and cut out as much junk from my system as possible.

I did this with coke. I have never really been one to crave coke, say, like I do Chocolate, but I did drink them way more than I should. And one day, I just stopped. Now, rarely do I drink cokes. Occasionally at dinner I will have one with a meal. But I don't crave them anymore. I actually prefer water.

I hope this is what will happen to my addiction to sweets and bad food.

I think half the reason I eat badly is because I don't put in the effort to cook.

And the chocolate addiction... well that may be a tough one to conquer.

So, do you all have any recipes? Or tricks of the trade for staying away from the bad stuff?

let me know.

Also On my below post, Makeup Makeover,

So many suggestions! Thank you! H
ere is what I am thinking I am going to start over with:

Mac Eyeshadow: There were so many comments raving about their eye shadows. I think I am going to go in tomorrow and have them do my eyes up for me and see what the result is :)

Foundation: I am going to give Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer a try!

Eyeliner: A good friend convinced me to try Revelon Color Stay eyeliner, I am excited to give it a shot!

And for my Cheeks... Well there was a definite winner in that category... NARS in orgasm. Ordered it yesterday.

For my lips: I think again, I am going to go with MAC and their lipglass.

We will see how it turns out.

Peace,

  1. Yes! Force yourself to shop the outskirts of the grocery store, get fruits and veggies (and for that little sweet treat, get carmel or cream cheese dip), cheese, yogurt with a little flaxseed (I'm not a health nut, but flaxseed works). I know it's hard, it took me a while to get into the groove of doing this.

I'm not a cook either, I HATE cooking (it frizzes my hair being in a hot kitchen!) So, I have loads of easy crock pot recipes that make great leftovers. Or one pot meals. Let me know, I can email them to you.

  2. My trick to staying away from the junk is to eat every 2 to 3 hours. I eat breakfast at 8, then have a piece of fruit at 10, then lunch at noon, then a snack such as a cheese stick or an apple with PB around 2 or 3. Then I usually don't eat dinner till 7 or 7:30. So i will have a little snack such as carrots and dip or baked chips and salsa while I cook.

  3. Avoid the middle aisles at the grocery stores. It is typically where the junk foods are. Also, try to do self checkout. Those lines don't have as much candy/junk food staring at you in the face.

I also treat myself to one soda a week. It could be at a meal or whatever, but I can always look forward to that sweet, carbonated treat once a week. It makes things like going to dinner or the movies a little more exciting.

I picked all my MAC eyeshadow colors by just going in and asking them to give me a light everyday look. The girl tried a few different looks for me and I went with the ones that I liked the best.

  5. Cooking makes all the difference. I always eat so much worse when I'm not cooking regularly!
