Through My Rose Colored Glasses... The Living Room

So here is the first installment of Through My Rose Colored Glasses. Here is a look into my living room. I meant to take a picture of the outside of my house too but it was dark outside so we will save that for later.

I hope you enjoy!

Almost the whole room.. almost

My house is old. Built in the 1920's and is listed on the historic register in Birmingham. To be kind, it has some charm :) I really love living in a house and I love this houses location and the size of it. But it really does need some cosmetic work. But for now I am making the best of it and trying to touch it up with decorations.

I am not really sure what you call my style, eclectic, boho? I have an eye for random things. I like clean earthy colors with a pop of bright color.
The tan couch was the first 'real' piece of furniture I ever bought and I am so glad I bought it. It is so comfy and it has style but is neutral enough to coordinate with alot of looks.
I found these pillows:

at Anthropologie and fell in love! I think they look great with the room and on the couch.
The cream slip covered couch is comfortable too. Obviously a slip cover can be kind of tricky and at times cheapen the look of a room but I added these pillow:

From Pottery barn as the back of the couch to ad some color and to lessen the look of the slip cover.

Some of my favorite pieces in the room, besides the tan couch and anthro pillows are:

this angel painting that my friend Hayden did. I love it so much.It sits on the bookshelf that is behind the couch. (If anyone is interested in a painting by Hayden just let me know. She is amazing!)

This painting that my friend Kerra did for me for my birthday. Isn't it amazing! It is me, my personality in a painting. It hangs beside the mantle. (anyone interested in a painting by Kerra just let me know.)

And finally I really love this poster that I framed that says "Keep Calm and Carry On" This phrase was a WWII English propaganda phrase supported by the government to keep the public calm during the blitz.

I also really love the cake stand on the coffee table that holds the remote.

So, there you have it. Your first look into life through my rose colored glasses.
