Is it really Monday?

Is it really Monday. I had a great weekend and the amazing thing was that it felt like it lasted a long time.
Friday I ended up going to a friends house where we grilled and drank a little jack daniels. It was pretty chill but a great time. Bethany and Elysia came over and it was good hanging with them, although I was sad to see Elysia head back to Jackson.

Saturday, Potter had his 10wk shots! Such a big boy. He has gained 1 lb. He is getting so big! He also had his first dip into the pool on Saturday afternoon. He did great for a little while until he jumped in and started sinking, literally sinking. He is fine though, just a little frightened.

Saturday night Bethany and I cooked and just hung out. It was nice a chill. I got a great nights sleep. Good thing because Sunday was crazy.

I headed to church on Sunday morning which was great. And then I headed to Tuscaloosa for UA's bid day. My best friend McCall's sister-n-law is a Freshman at UA this year and went through rush last week. It is really hard to describe the craziness that is bid day if you have never experienced anything like sorority life but basically the girls that rush (this year nearly 1500) all head into the football stadium where they are given their bid cards to sit on. While they are sitting on their cards, parents, friends, family, drunk frat boys, line up outside the stadium behind barricades while all the sorority girls stand outside their houses waiting for the new girls.

All of sudden you start hearing screaming from the inside of the stadium and girls running out to their houses which their bid cards indicate. All while all the parents and friends and family and drunk frat boys are screaming at them behind the barricades as they run.

On top of all of this, it is insanely HOT! you are dripping sweat. As you make your way over to your rushee's new house you get even hotter and then you enter the sorority house which is stifling bc there are so many Hot,Sweaty, Smelly college girls, parents and guys crowded around a buffet of hot food including, friend chicke, mashed potatoes and green beans.

It may sound disgusting and it kind of is but it is also so fun! I remember my bid day and it was such a whirlwind! I loved getting to see Rachel enjoy hers! She ended up going AOPi which happens to be the same sorority that McCall was in! She was so excited and I was so excited for her.

After all the madnes that was Tuscaloosa, I headed back to Bham for a nice run with Bethany and then dinner and Mad Men with a friend.

It was a great weekend.

Congrats again Rachel!

(awful pic of me, but.. Me,McCall and Rachel at the AOPi house)
