Reading Rainbow

I love to read. And on top of loving to read I am a picky reader. I love a random assortment of books so I am always on the hunt for a great read. But I am hard to please for sure. I don't know why this is. But either way it is. SO I have learned to scrounge when it comes to finding a new book.
I love to go to book stores, but I get totally overwhelmed. There are so many displays and so many pretty and interesting book covers and the fiction section never ceases to intimidate me.

My God Send: Amazon. I love shopping for books on Amazon. They are 1. so Cheap(literally I have paid 1 cent before) 2. Once you have picked out the book you are looking for they offer suggestions on other books based on your purchase and 3. You can save items in either your shopping cart (save for later option) or on your wish list. I cannot tell you how many books I have found through their suggestions. It is so much easier than shuffling through the book store (although I really really love bookstores) and the prices are so much more affordable than at a book store.

When it comes to me and books, I enjoy a lot of them but I don't love them. I only really love a few books:
1. The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
2. 1984 George Orwell
3. The Kite Runner
4. A Thousand Splendid Suns
5. Harry Potter
And most recently The Time Travelers Wife. I absolutely loved this book. It was one of those that I dreaded so much because I knew it was going to end at some point but I couldn't put it down!

It is beautifully written and such a wonderful story. There is a movie coming out in a few weeks. I always get nervous when books are turned into movies. The movies are never as good as the books and I really hate it when I see the movie with people who either don't read or haven't read the book. When this happens I get frustrated because I can't seem to adequately explain how much better the book really is than the film. I also hate to be disappointed when I see the movie and find that the characters, scenery and overall feel of the movie doesn't quite ad up to my imaginations version. It is always a little even if it is a well done movie.

That is what I am worried about with this movie. I can handle the mediocre-ness of a movie I "like" but I don't know about a movie that I love. Having scene the previews I am already iffy about the actor that plays Henry. I imagined him so different in my mind. But, I'm hoping for the best.

For anyone who loves reading, definitely pick this book up before you see the movie. I don't think you will be disappointed.
